Dr. Jan M. Pattanayak joined Asheville Cardiology Associates in 2009.  He completed his premedical education at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey.  He obtained a medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, New Jersey.  He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts.  He completed his Cardiology Fellowship and Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts.

Dr. Pattanayak is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, General Cardiology, and Interventional Cardiology.  His professional societies include member of the Cardiac CT, the American College of Cardiology, the Massachusetts Medical Society, and the American Medical Association. 

Dr. Pattanayak's  specialties include General Cardiology, Interventional Cardiology, Peripheral Vascular Interventions, and Nuclear Diagnostic Imaging.  His special research interests include optimal antiplatelet therapy in both stable and unstable coronary artery disease and process improvement in the cardiac catheterization laboratory.
