Ann Yaeger Young is the Senior Vice President and General Counsel of Mission Health.
Young has been at Mission since 1982 when she helped begin the Risk/Legal program for Memorial Mission hospital. Young received a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill where she graduated Phi Beta Kappa and a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of North Carolina School of Law.
Young practiced law in Durham, North Carolina and in Nashville, Tennessee before serving as In-house Counsel for North Carolina Memorial Hospital (now UNC Hospitals) from 1978 to 1980 where she helped initiate the risk management and self insurance programs.
Young is a past Chair of the Healthcare Section of the North Carolina Bar Association, and she has taught health law at UNC-Asheville and Pfeiffer University. She is a member of the North Carolina Bar Association and the American Health Lawyers Association. Young is the assistant secretary to the Board of Directors of Mission Health System and is currently a member of the boards of directors of the United Way of Asheville-Buncombe County, UNC-Asheville Foundation and University of North Carolina School of Law.
She was recognized as a member of the 2011 and 2012 Legal Elite in the field of corporate law by Business North Carolina.
